The Missional Commons Intensive is an opportunity to take a closer look at some of the key questions and opportunities ahead of us as church leaders this Fall.
It comes out of feedback you have given us. You want to dig into these topics in a context of dialogue and conversation – a community of leaders wrestling with similar issues. What we will be doing is assisting one another name the realities we’re working with and talk with one another around how we are engaging them. The intensive is not a seminar guided by an expert but a forum for us to listen, learn and engage with one another’s wisdom in the context of guided conversation.
Led by Alan Roxburgh and Fiona Watts this part workshop, part round-table will connect you with a small group of leaders to take a closer look at these topics.
1. Balancing Running a Church with Building a Community of Jesus | September 24
How are we addressing the competing expectations around running a church and building a community of Jesus in this new space?
2. Engaging the Whole People of God | October 8
As dispersed communities how do we engage our people and not do everything ourselves? How do we release our people and empower them to be the whole people of God?
3. Exploring Communal Practices | October 22
We believe common practices are critical in this time. How do we go about inviting our people to explore these with us?
4. Living in the Neighbourhood | November 5
How do we invite our people to see the opportunities of being with God in their neighbourhoods rather than just focusing on their church?
All gatherings are from 11am – 1pm PT. A video recording will be available for any missed gatherings. (Note: The recording will not include breakout rooms).
