This way of reading the Scripture assists us in making room for God to shape us in and through the text. It gives us a practical approach for reading a specific text slowly and repeatedly so that the imagination of that text gets deep within our imagination so that it can shape us. It is a way of allowing Jesus to encounter us and speak to us in fresh ways.

Dwelling teaches us to listen to our God again, who is deeply engaged in our churches, in our lives, and in our world. It invites the Holy Spirit to enliven the biblical texts in our lives so that we become more aware of and responsive to what God is doing.
